Our community is a village focused on the interests, needs and ambitions of each individual learner, so that all learners can grow. When a learner enrolls in Capital Village PCS, he/she is matched with a mentor and begins building an Individual Learning Plan alongside his/her family.
At Capital Village, learning is real and our learners are empowered to change the world in middle school! We use leaders in our community as experts and our wonderful city as classroom. We take on real issues like gentrification and climate change and tackle real questions like “What is a hero?” We teach life skills, like conflict resolution and goal-setting, alongside powerful cognitive skills, like evaluating an author’s argument. We provide plenty of time during the school day for students to develop their talents, interests, and passions through student-led “passion projects” in courses like Dance, Entrepreneurship and Art.

We are a small school with big ideas.
We make learning real.
Each student has a personalized learning plan tailored to their specific needs and abilities. With guidance and support, students take responsibility for their own learning and achievement.
Pique the curiosity. Stimulate the imagination. Fuel the passion. It’s education at its best. Our students work collaboratively on interdisciplinary projects that allow them to enroll what they have learned.
Holistic development includes character, social-emotional skills, physical fitness, and life skills. Our partnership of teachers, parents, service providers, community, and faith-based organizations creates a wraparound support system for each student.
